The Hunger Games (Released May 1)
As we look forward to the November 2026 premiere of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, we can also go back to where it all began with this first fantastic 2012 film that kicked off the popular dystopian action franchise. The Hunger Games takes place in a post-apocalyptic future version of North America that’s ruled by a Capitol that forces the 12 districts of Panem to send a boy and a girl as tributes to fight in an annual, brutal, televised battle to the death called the Hunger Games. When poor District 12 resident Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) volunteers to save her younger sister (Willow Shields) and fight in her stead, it launches an incredible story of survival, love, and rebellion that could change the fate of their entire nation.
