Tommy Lee Jones’ family is speaking out following the sudden death of his daughter, Victoria.
“We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers,” the family shared in a statement with People on Friday, January 2. “Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Thank you.”
Victoria, 34, was found unresponsive early Thursday morning, January 1, at the Fairmont San Francisco Hotel, where she was later pronounced dead. She was the daughter of the Men in Black actor and his ex-wife Kimberlea Cloughley. The former couple also share a son, Austin Jones, 43.
According to dispatch audio, the call was classified as a “code 3 for the overdose, color change.” In overdose cases, “color change” refers to cyanosis — low oxygen levels in the blood, often associated with heart or lung complications — which can cause blue or purple discoloration of the skin, lips, and nails, per the Cleveland Clinic.
Victoria briefly followed in her father’s acting footsteps, appearing in Men in Black II (2002), The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (2005), and an episode of One Tree Hill in 2003.
Court records show that Victoria was arrested at least twice in the past year, including an arrest related to drug possession.
A police source told NBC Bay Area that foul play is not suspected. The official cause of death has not yet been determined.
“We are deeply saddened by an incident that occurred at the hotel on January 1, 2026. Our heartfelt condolences are with the family and loved ones during this very difficult time,” Fairmont San Francisco press director Michelle Heston told People in a statement. “The hotel team is actively cooperating and supporting police authorities within the framework of the ongoing investigation.”
