The Mummy is back, and this time it’s a lot less fun and lot more scary. Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, which opens in theaters nationwide this weekend, is yet another re-imagining of The Mummy franchise, which dates all the way back to Boris Karloff in 1932, but is probably best remembered by the 1999 Brendan Fraser adventure film. The new The Mummy movie forgoes the adventure part, and is instead pure horror.
Written and directed by Lee Cronin (known for 2023’s Evil Dead Rise), this version of The Mummy stars Jack Reynor as a journalist whose daughter Katie (Natalie Grace) went missing eight years ago. When Katie unexpectedly turns up and is returned to her family, her parents are overjoyed. But the joy doesn’t last, as they quickly realize this is not the daughter they remember. Katie spent too long in a 3,000-year-old sarcophagus and came back very, very wrong.
Also starring Laia Costa, May Calamawy, and Verónica Falcón, Lee Cronin’s The Mummy promises lots of scares, especially if you go see it in the movie theater. But if you’d rather wait to watch this one at home, then read on to see what we know about when and where you’ll be able to watch Lee Cronin’s The Mummy on streaming.
Where to watch The Mummy 2026 movie:
Right now, Lee Cronin’s The Mummy 2026 movie is only available to watch in a movie theater when it opens in theaters on Friday, April 17. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. However, we do expect Lee Cronin’s The Mummy movie to be on streaming eventually.
Is The Mummy 2026 movie streaming on Netflix?
Lee Cronin’s The Mummy is not streaming on Netflix and likely will not be on Netflix any time soon, due to the fact that the film is a Warner Bros. release, will have a streaming home on the Warner Bros.-owned streaming service, HBO Max. If you want to watch the new Lee Cronin’s The Mummy movie at home, you’ll have to wait for the film to be available to buy or rent on digital platforms, or wait for it to stream on HBO Max.
If you’re new to HBO Max, you can sign up for as low as $10.99/month with ads, but an ad-free subscription will cost $18.49/month.
If you want to stream even more and save a few bucks a month while you’re at it, we recommend subscribing to one of the discounted Disney+ Bundles with Hulu and HBO Max. With ads, the bundle costs $19.99/month and without ads, $32.99/month.
When will Lee Cronin’s The Mummy movie be streaming on HBO’s Max?
All the new WB theatrical movies end up streaming on Max, though the wait period has varied by title. One Battle After Another, for example, was released on PVOD about a month-and-a-half after opening in theaters, and began streaming on HBO Max about two-and-a-half months after it was released in theaters. If Lee Cronin’s The Mummy follows a similar release pattern, you may see Lee Cronin’s The Mummy on digital around June 2026, and streaming on HBO Max around mid-July 2026.
But that’s pure speculation. The Warner Bros. home releases have varied by title. If you want to see Lee Cronin’s The Mummy right away, your best is to catch the movie in theaters.
