Is the ‘Masters of the Universe’ 2026 Movie Streaming on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video?

Great news for Gen-Xers who want to relive their childhood this weekend: The 2026 Masters of the Universe movie opens in theaters tomorrow. He-Man is back, and this time, Skeletor doesn’t have a chance!

Directed by Travis Knight—with a screenplay written by Chris Butler, Aaron Nee, Adam Nee, and David Callaham—this is the second live-action feature adaptation of the Mattel franchise, following the 1987 Masters of the Universe film starring Dolph Lundgren. This time around, actor Nicholas Galitzine is stepping into He-Man’s knee-high boots and leather skirt, and Jared Leto co-stars as the evil Skeletor who rules He-Man’s home planet as a tyrant.

The new Masters of the Universe movie cast also includes Camila Mendes, Jared Leto, Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Kristen Wiig, Morena Baccarin, and Idris Elba. This sounds like a fun one to watch on the big screen, but if you’d rather wait to watch the movie at home, then read on to find out what we know about when and where the Masters of the Universe 2026 movie will be streaming.

Where to watch the Masters of the Universe 2026 movie:

For now, Masters of the Universe 2026 will only available to watch in a movie theater, when it opens in the U.S. on Friday, June 5. You can find a showing near you via Fandango.  Masters of the Universe 2026 is not yet available to watch online or on streaming.

Is Masters of the Universe 2026 movie streaming on Netflix?

Masters of the Universe 2026 is not streaming on Netflix and likely will not be on Netflix any time soon, due to the fact that the film is not a Netflix movie. Masters of the Universe 2026 is an Amazon MGM movie, and therefore will likely go to streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video.

When will Masters of the Universe 2026 be streaming on Amazon Prime Video?

Masters of the Universe 2026 streaming release date on Prime Video has not yet been announced, but you might see Masters of the Universe 2026 streaming free on Prime Video around early August 2026.

You will be able to purchase Masters of the Universe 2026 on Amazon Prime Video when the movie becomes available to buy and rent on digital, likely in about a month. You will also likely able to watch Masters of the Universe 2026 streaming on Prime Video, free with a Prime subscription, around the same time.

If you aren’t a Prime Video subscriber yet, you can get started with a 30-day Amazon Prime free trial, including Prime perks like the Prime Video streaming service, free two-day shipping, exclusive deals, and more. After the free trial, Amazon Prime costs $14.99/month or $139/year.

All 18- to 24-year-olds, regardless of student status, are eligible for a discounted Prime for Young Adults membership as well, with age verification. After a six-month free trial, you’ll pay 50% off the standard Prime monthly price of $14.99/month — just $7.49/month — for up to six years and get all the perks.

Another Amazon MGM movie, Mercy, was released on digital platforms about one month after opening in theaters, and began streaming on Amazon Prime about two months after releasing in theaters. If Masters of the Universe 2026 follows a similar release strategy, you might see Masters of the Universe 2026 on digital around early July 2026, and streaming free on Amazon Prime Video around early August 2026.

But this is all speculation. The streaming releases for Amazon MGM movies that go to theaters have varied by title. So, you may have a longer wait before you see Masters of the Universe 2026 on streaming. If you want to watch Masters of the Universe 2026 right away, you can go see the movie in theaters.
