You probably won’t be shocked to hear that the new Brett Goldstein and Jennifer Lopez Netflix movie, Office Romance—which began streaming on Friday—takes place, for the most part, in an office. It’s all right there in the title, after all. That said, there are a few non-office settings when it comes to the Office Romance filming locations.
Directed by Ol Parker, with a script written by Goldstein and Joe Kelly, Office Romance is an R-rated romantic comedy starring Lopez as Jackie Cruz, the tough-as-nails CEO of an airline, and Goldstein as Daniel Blanchflower, the company’s new in-house counsel put in charge of a new lawsuit against Cruz. Though sparks fly immediately between these two co-workers, the company has a strict no-dating-between-employees policy. But when you’re as hot as JLo and BGold, how are you supposed to resist that pull?
Again, most of the movie finds JLo and BGold inside the walls of an office building, but the movies does go outside where it can. As director Ol Parker explained in a recent interview with Decider, “So much of the thing takes place in small office rooms, inside buildings. At least a third of the movie takes place in the office building. Whenever we can, we need to broaden it out, make it wider.”
Read on to learn more about the Office Romance movie filming locations in New Jersey and the Dominican Republic.

Where was the Office Romance movie filmed?
For the most part, Office Romance was filmed in New Jersey, both on location and on set at the new Netflix Studios in Forth Monmouth. Office Romance also filmed on location in the Dominican Republic, for the sequence where Jackie and Daniel spend a weekend in the DR.
The beginning of the movie finds JLo having dinner with a colleague who mistakes a work dinner for a date, which was filmed at Hunan Taste Chinese Restaurant on Bloomingdale Avenue in Denville, a small town in the north part of New Jersey.
The scene where Jackie takes Daniel home and he discovers her room dedicated to British paraphernalia was filmed at a beautiful $8.5 million Tudor home in Montclair, New Jersey—a big commuter town just outside of New York city—according to a local news report last year.

The exteriors of the Air Cruz offices were filmed on the streets of Hoboken, New Jersey—including the scenes where Bradley Whitford’s character chokes on food from a food truck, and then later finds his true calling as a food truck vendor himself.
According to a blog post from The Hoboken Girl, that fake food truck was situated near 1st Street and River Street. The production also filmed in Mile Square City around the waterfront. Unfortunately, the burrito truck is not real!
And as for the titular office in Office Romance, that was filmed in Kenilworth, a borough located in north-central part of New Jersey.
In a recent interview with Decider, Office Romance director Ol Parker said that after the majority of production taking place in New Jersey, the cast and crew spent the last week of production in the sunny Dominican Republic.
“Gloriously, [the DR scenes] was scheduled for the last week of the shoot,” Parker said. “So we shot the whole movie in Jersey, and then I flew down there to set up and prep. All the actors arrived about four days later, and we had the most brilliant week down there, which was fantastic fun. I massively recommend it.”
Some of those DR scenes were filmed at the luxurious Cayo Levantado Resort in the Samaná Province, on the northeast coast of the island. In a post on Instagram, one of the film’s set directors wrote, “Stayed and filmed at the posh Cayo Levantado Resort…very White Lotus.”
“There are logistical issues, but it’s so much fun, and everyone’s together, and locked in,” Parker said of filming on location on the beach, in the sun. “And you all have a party at night. Good times.”
So there you have it. The vast majority of Office Romance was filmed in location, but the cast and crew also spent what sounds like a glorious week on the beach in the Dominican Republic. Invite me next time, guys!
