When the end credits roll on Episode 10 of Katie Dippold’s hit Apple TV horror-comedy Widow’s Bay fans will be begging for more.
Without spoiling the Season 1 finale, fans and characters learn substantially more island lore and have several heartbreaking, horrific realizations. Episode 10 perfectly tees up a Season 2, and when we chatted with Widow’s Bay star Kate O’Flynn, she said she’s just as excited as fans to learn all of Widow’s Bay‘s secrets.
“I feel like there’s loads of cliffhangers left. Maybe it’s not for me to say, but I feel like Dale is not going to keep that [information learned] to himself. I’d be very surprised. And I want to know what happens to Bechir and his wife. There’s so much in jeopardy there. So I think that there’s a lot of unanswered questions, and yet it’s a very satisfying finale,” O’Flynn said.
So are there more of Tom (Matthew Rhys), Patricia (O’Flynn), Wyck (Stephen Root), and the rest of the island’s spooky, at times hilarious, adventures to come? Curious how many episodes are in Widow’s Bay Season 1? When is Widow’s Bay‘s finale? Is Widow’s Bay a limited series? Or will there be a Widow’s Bay Season 2? And if so, when will Widow’s Bay Season 2 premiere?
Here’s everything we need to know about the future of this masterful horror-comedy, including Widow’s Bay‘s renewal status, episode count, and more.
How Many Episodes Are In Widow’s Bay Season 1? When Is Widow’s Bay‘s Season 1 Finale?
Widow’s Bay Season 1 consists of 10 episodes, which unfortunately means June 17th’s episode is the finale. But fear not, Widow’s Baes. We’ve got good news!
Will There Be A Widow’s Bay Season 2 On Apple TV? Or Is Widow’s Bay A Limited Series?
Ahead of Widow’s Bay’s Season 1 finale, Apple TV announced an early Season 2 renewal, which came as no surprise, considering the series regularly ascends to the #1 spot on Apple TV’s Top TV Shows list, is beloved and acclaimed by fans and critics alike, and maintains an impressive 97% Rotten Tomatoes score with 76 professional reviews.
“From the moment audiences arrived in Widow’s Bay, they’ve been hooked on every eerie mystery, unexpected laughs, and cursed secret that Katie, Hiro, Matthew, and the entire team have created,” said Matt Cherniss, Apple TV’s head of programming said in a press release. “It’s become one of those shows everyone’s talking about, and we’re thrilled to see audiences continue to embrace it. We can’t wait to return for another season.”
Creator, showrunner, and executive producer Katie Dippold added, “Season 2 is about how everything is great on the island and there’s nothing to worry about.” Plus, Apple TV announced a new, multi-year overall deal with Dippold. This news is better than Martha’s Vineyard!
When Does Widow’s Bay Return With New Episodes? Widow’s Bay Season 2 Premiere Date Info:
As of Widow’s Bay‘s Season 1 finale day an official Season 2 premiere date had yet to be announced, but in an ideal world we’d have new episodes in 2027. We’ll likely get a better sense of how far into the planning and writing stages the team is during finale post-mort interviews with Dippold, but because the series films in Massachusetts, weather will be a production concern in late 2026 and early 2027. Season 1 reportedly filmed in May 2025 and June 2025, so we’ll have to wait and see how timing shakes out to see if a late 2027 release is in the cards. Stay tuned for more updates!
