When the end credits roll on Dutton Ranch Episode 9, fans of Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser’s Yellowstone spin-off will all have one burning question: “IS THAT IT?!”

After a shocking main character death and Mariano (Raoul Max Trujillo) sending his men to kill Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser), Episode 9, “El Padrino,” ended on a jaw-dropping cliffhanger that will have fans fearing for the fate of one of Dutton Ranch‘s most beloved characters.

Naturally, there’s a long list of burning questions we need Dutton Ranch to answer. But after the eventful episode, viewers will largely be curious if Episode 9 marks the end of Dutton Ranch Season 1.

Wondering how many episodes are in Dutton Ranch Season 1? Is there a Dutton Ranch Episode 10? And if not, will there be a Season 2 of Dutton Ranch on Paramount+ and Paramount Network? We’ve got answers!

Read on to learn more about the future of Dutton Ranch, including how many episodes are in Season 1, Season 2 info, and more.

How Many Episodes Are In Dutton Ranch Season 1?

Season 1 of Dutton Ranch consists of nine episodes. Not eight episodes, not ten episodes, only nine!

Will There Be A Dutton Ranch Episode 10?

Sadly, no. Dutton Ranch Episode 9, “El Padrino,” served as the Season 1 finale, which means fans will have to wait for a potential Season 2 to find out what the future holds for Beth, Rip, Carter, the Jacksons, and the rest of the Rio Paloma, Texas crew.

Will There Be A Season 2 of Dutton Ranch?

On Wednesday, June 24, ahead of Dutton Ranch Episode 8, Paramount+ officially renewed the series!

On top of having an 89% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes, according to a press release, “Dutton Ranch cemented itself as a smash-hit by amassing 12.9 million viewers globally in the 7 days following its premiere — marking the biggest Original Series launch in Paramount+ history. The series also delivered 2.9 million total viewers during its two-episode debut on Paramount Network on May 15, making it the biggest series premiere on cable since 2023. With 1.85 million viewers for the premiere telecast alone, Dutton Ranch also ranked as the #1 cable entertainment telecast among both adults 18-49 and total viewers.”

Dutton Ranch was also dubbed the #1 streaming series according by Nielsen based on average audience for the week of May 11, and the show was a smash hit on Paramount+ social channels as well.

“Dutton Ranch has resonated with audiences in a powerful way, building on the legacy of beloved characters, while establishing its own identity,” said Matt Thunell, President of Paramount Television Studios. “Thank you to our partners at Paramount+ and 101 Studios for a phenomenal first season. We look forward to bringing fans more stories from these unforgettable characters in Season 2.”

Dutton Ranch Season 2 Premiere Date Info: When Will Dutton Ranch Season 2 Come Out With New Episodes On Paramount+ And Paramount Network?

Since Dutton Ranch Season 1 is just wrapping, there’s no official Dutton Ranch Season 2 premiere date on the books right now. But the fact that the series found its now showrunner is a promising sign, and if the writers get back to work and production commences in a timely fashion, we could hopefully get new episodes of Dutton Ranch in 2027. We’ll likely learn more about Dutton Ranch‘s ideal Season 2 timeline after its Season 1 finale, so stay tuned for more updates!

Dutton Ranch Season 2 Showrunner Info: Benjamin Cavell Is Onboard

While Season 2 details are under wraps, we know when the series returns it will have a new showrunner, Benjamin Cavell, as Chad Feehan departed from the series three weeks before its premiere.

Looking for a detailed Dutton Ranch Season 1 finale recap? Decider’s got you covered. In terms of Season 2 predictions, however, the series will absolutely pick up after that MAJOR Episode 9 cliffhanger and see Beth and Rip frantically working to save Carter after he was kidnapped by Mariano’s cartel men. (Fingers crossed for a Marshals crossover episode!)

While we expect that battle to take up decent Season 2 attention, someone also has to answer for Rob-Will’s death, which left Oreana and Beulah devastated. Plus, Oreana will be pregnant and missing Carter! Will Beulah realize that Mariano and Joaquin are to blame for her pain? And what happens to the ranches if Beth and Rip cut ties with the Jacksons?! So many questions, so thankfully we’re getting more Dutton Ranch!
