David Wain, the director of cult comedy classic Wet Hot American Summer, is blessing us with another absurd, silly, summer comedy: Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass, which opens in movie theaters this weekend.
Directed by Wain, who also co-wrote the script with fellow WHAS alum Ken Marino, Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass stars Zoey Deutch as Gail Daughtry, a hairdresser from Kansas who has an innocent conversation with her husband-to-be about which celebrity they would get a “pass” to have sex with. It’s just fun, fantasy talk. She certainly never thought her fiancé would run into Jennifer Aniston in a grocery store and actually have sex with her. Seeking revenge on her cheating man, Gail decides the only thing for her to do is to find her celebrity crush—Jon Hamm—and sleep with him.
Honestly, the whole concept sounds like a riot. Especially because Hamm’s former Mad Men co-star, John Slattery, plays himself in the movie, joining Gail on her quest to track down Hamm. An over-the-top comedy like this is probably best watched at a movie theater with a packed audience. But if you’d rather wait to watch the film at home, then read on to find out what we know about where and when Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass will be streaming.
Where to watch the Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass movie:
Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass will only be available to watch in a movie theater, when it opens in the U.S. nationwide on Friday, July 10. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass is not yet available to watch online or on streaming, but we do expect to be able to watch Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass on Netflix eventually.
Is Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass streaming on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video?
Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass is not currently streaming on Netflix or Amazon, because the movie is being released in theaters, only. Right now, the only way to watch the Gail Daughtry movie is in a movie theater. That said, because Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass is a Sony movie, being released in the U.S. via Sony Pictures Classics, so we do expect to see it streaming on Netflix eventually.
You will be able to purchase Gail Daughtry on Prime Video eventually, when the movie becomes available to buy and rent on digital, but you will not be able to stream Gail Daughtry on Prime Video free with a Prime subscription any time soon. If you want to watch the Gail Daughtry movie at home, you’ll have to wait for the film to be available to buy or rent on digital platforms, or wait for Gail Daughtry to stream on Netflix.
Netflix offers three subscription plans to fit your streaming needs. The plans start at $7.99/month for standard with ads and go up to $24.99/month for unlimited ad-free streaming in up to 4K UHD quality.
When will Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass be on Netflix?
Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass will likely be on Netflix sometime in November 2026.
Netflix has a deal with Sony Pictures that gives the streamer the rights to the Sony movies in the “Pay 1” window, meaning the first streaming window after the film’s home media release. Another recent Sony Classic movie, Scarlet, came to Netflix about four months after opening in theaters nationwide.
If Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass follows this same release pattern, you can expect to stream the Gail Daughtry movie on Netflix around early mid-November 2026, aka four months after the movie opened in theaters. In the meantime, you can go watch the movie in theaters.
