Will there be a Ransom Canyon Season 3 on Netflix? Has Netflix renewed or canceled Ransom Canyon? How did Ransom Canyon Season 2 end? What could Ransom Canyon Season 3 look like? And when will Ransom Canyon Season 3 come out? We’ve got answers.
Here’s what we know about the future of the Netflix series — including insight from creator/showrunner April Blair and stars Kelly and Duhamel.
Will There Be A Season 3 Of Ransom Canyon On Netflix? Ransom Canyon Season 3 Renewal Status:
As of Ransom Canyon‘s Season 2 premiere date, Netflix had yet to officially renew the series, but when chatting with Decider, creator and showrunner April Blair revealed that the writers’ room is currently back up and running for Season 3. So it sounds like it’s a done deal.
When Will Ransom Canyon Return With New Episodes? Ransom Canyon Season 3 Premiere Date:
There’s no official Ransom Canyon Season 3 premiere date yet, but considering new episodes have been released annually since the show premiered in 2025, we feel confident that Season 3 will arrive in 2027 — especially since the writers’ room is already up and running. Ransom Canyon Season 1 dropped in April 2025 and Season 2 came out in July 2026, so there’s a chance we could get another spring or summer premiere. But stay tuned for more updates!

How Many Episodes Will Be In Ransom Canyon Season 3?
Ransom Canyon Season 1 consisted of 10 episodes total. But like Ransom Canyon Season 2, Blair told Decider that Season 3 will only feature eight episodes.
“It was just a more practical decision. I feel like eight is fun. It’s a ride. You kind of binge through them. Obviously I came from doing network stuff, and we were doing 22-episode seasons, so eight feels like a vacation. It’s easy to do, but it’s fun for storytelling, because there’s no lull. If you’re doing 12, 14, or definitely 22, you have dips. And with eight, they all have to be great. They all have to be rocketing towards one big conclusion,” Blair said. “I haven’t done eight quite so many times, so it’s a different structure, but I enjoyed it.”
Ransom Canyon Season 2 Ending Explained: What Will Ransom Canyon Season 3 Be About?
Looking for a detailed Ransom Canyon Season 2 finale recap? Decider’s got you covered. But the main takeaways heading into Season 3 are that Quinn and Staten are finally together (and moving in together!), Lauren chose Kit over Lucas, Yancy’s land actually does have oil in it, and though he’s a new father, Ellie doesn’t want him around their baby because he attracts danger and Sidney is still out there. So what will next season have in store?
“I’m excited at the potential of getting to explore what it really is like to start a life with someone,” Kelly told Decider when sharing her hopes for Quinn and Staten. “Our whole lives it’s been start, stop, will-they-won’t-they, yes, no, can, can’t. And that’s kind of the easy part. We can all struggle, but success is hard. Success, in this case, means they finally get together. So what’s it like when you’re building a home together, when you’re building a life together? When you’re finally cohabitating, what does that really look like? The messiness of it, and still choosing each other, despite seeing all of each other’s ugliest parts. What does it really look like? We don’t really ever — I don’t see television exploring the messiness of that very often.”
Duhamel raised the stakes, adding, “I think that’d be fun. I’d love to be able to see how these two handle domestic day-to-day. And I think that we should have a baby!”
Meanwhile, Blair had a slew of Season 3 teases for Decider about everything from who Lauren will end up with and Yancy and Ellie’s future to Quinn/Staten’s next chapter and more. For all the Season 3 details, stay tuned for our full interview with Ransom Canyon’s creator and showrunner.
