Tom Holland is once again back in the spidey-suit in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the new Spider-Man movie opening in theaters everywhere this weekend.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (who also directed Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings movie), with a screenplay written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers (who also wrote the other Holland Spider-Man films), Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the fourth film starring Holland as Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man.
Following the events of the 2021 Spider-Man: No Way Home movie, Peter is dealing with the fallout of the entire world—including his loving girlfriend, MJ (played by Zendaya)—forgetting that he exists. Peter still protects New York City, he just does so anonymously, now. But when Peter’s powers undergo a dangerous new development, it gets harder and harder to go through it alone.
Jacob Batalon and Jon Bernthal reprise their roles as Ned and The Punisher, while Sadie Sink joins the cast in an undisclosed role. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is not yet streaming on Disney+. Right now, the movie is only playing in theaters. That said, we do expect to see Spider-Man: Brand New Day streaming on Disney+ eventually. While Spider-Man: Brand New Day Disney+ release date has not yet been announced, we can make an educated guess as to when the movie will be streaming based on previous Disney releases.
Another recent Disney Marvel movie, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, was released on premium video-on-demand about two months after opening in theaters, and began streaming on Disney+ about three-and-a-half months after opening in theaters.
