**Spoilers for House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 7 “The Dragon in Winter,” now streaming on HBO Max**
Last night’s all new episode of House of the Dragon on HBO ended with Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney) reclaiming his power — and his dragon Sunfyre.
So how did Sunfyre survive? Well, in George R.R. Martin‘s Fire & Blood, the dragon rested up after the Battle of Rook’s Rest, licking his proverbial wounds until he was once again strong enough to reunite with his dispossessed rider. This is all great news for the Greens, who are also coincidentally plotting to lure Ulf the White (Tom Bennett) and Silverwing away from Rhaenrya’s (Emma D’Arcy) service at the worst possible moment for the beleaguered queen: ahead of a great battle at Tumbleton.
Will we get to finally see a battle at Tumbleton? Will the smallfolk rise up against Rhaenyra? Will we see fan favorite characters — like Helaena (Phia Saban) — die?
