Mark Wahlberg is giving himself a chance to play an old-school Italian mobster in By Any Means, a new mafia crime thriller coming to movie theaters this weekend.
Directed by Elegance Bratton and written by Sascha Penn, By Any Means is loosely based on the true story of Gregory Scarpa (played by Wahlberg in the film), a notorious mafia hitman turned FBI informant, who helped the FBI investigate the murders of civil rights leaders in Mississippi in 1966. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II co-stars as Special FBI Agent Wayne Strider, who is based on the real-life FBI agent Lindley DeVecchio.
Also starring Nicole Beharie, Josh Lucas, LisaGay Hamilton, LaChanze, Ethan Embry, David Strathairn, and Giancarlo Esposito, By Any Means might just be an excuse for Wahlberg to pretend to he’s Al Pacino, but it might still fill the wise-guy-shaped hole in your heart, if you’re into that sort of thing. If you’d rather wait to watch this one at home, then read on to find out when and where we expect to be able to watch the By Any Means movie on streaming.

Where to watch the new Mark Wahlberg movie By Any Means:
By Any Means will only be available to watch in a movie theater, when it opens in theaters in the U.S. on Friday, September 4. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. By Any Means is not yet available to watch online or on streaming.
Is the By Any Means movie streaming on Netflix or Prime Video?
By Any Means is not streaming on Netflix or Prime Video, and likely will not be on Netflix any time soon, due to the fact that the film is a Paramount Pictures release. Almost all Paramount movies go to Paramount’s streaming platform, Paramount+, and not to Netflix.
You will be able to purchase By Any Means on Prime Video eventually, when the movie becomes available to buy and rent on digital, but you will not be able to stream By Any Means on Prime Video free with a Prime subscription any time soon. If you want to watch the new Mark Wahlberg movie at home, you’ll have to wait for the film to be available to buy or rent on digital platforms, or wait for it to stream on Paramount+.
Paramount+ offers two subscription plans, Essential and Premium. Right now, you can get started with a seven-day free trial on the Premium plan.
The ad-supported Essential plan typically costs $8.99/month, while the ad-free Premium plan (which comes with Showtime titles and live CBS) costs $13.99/month.
When will By Any Means be streaming on Paramount+?
You might see By Any Means streaming on Paramount+ around early December 2026.
The official By Any Means Paramount+ streaming date has not yet been announced. Right now, the movie is only in theaters. That said, we do expect to see By Any Means streaming on Paramount+ eventually, but we’re not sure when. Another recent Paramount film, Scream 7, was released on digital platforms one month after opening in theaters, and began streaming on Paramount+ about three months after opening in theaters.
If By Any Means follows a similar release pattern, you might see the movie on digital around early October 2026, and streaming on Paramount+ around early December 2026. (Presuming that Paramount+ and HBO Max have not yet combined into one streamer yet, as they plan to do.)
But this is all speculation. If you want to watch the new Mark Wahlberg movie By Any Means right away, you can catch the movie in theaters.
