Nick Walker Wins the 2026 Mr. Olympia, Then Vows to Use His Prize Money to Thank His

Newly crowned Mr. Olympia, Nick Walker is proving to be one of the most popular winners in history. Having earned the People’s Champion award and then impressing the judges enough to lift the Sandow on Saturday night, the man they call “The Mutant” vowed to spend a portion of his prize money on Mom and Dad, noting that while bodybuilding is an individual sport, true success comes from the support of an athlete’s friends and family.

Nick Walker may have forced Samson Dauda into second place, and 2025 champ Derek Lunsford down to third, but The Mutant certainly put his family first after winning the $600,000 jackpot. Of course, Walker’s journey has been one of highs and lows, and the big man had missed the event in 2023 due to a hamstring tear and then withdrew again in 2024 to focus on some further physical recovery. During this downtime, the men’s Open contender had to dig deep and rely on his most trusted friends and family to keep him positive, but fortunately they delivered. After a much-needed break, The Mutant retuned with a solid sixth place in 2025 and brought his best package yet to the Orleans on September 27, 2026, becoming the twentieth Mr. Olympia in the process, and proving that where there’s a will there’s always a way to the top.

During his victory celebration, The Mutant was joined by his mom and dad to share some glory on stage, but once they got backstage, emotions reached another level.

How Did Nick Walker Honor His Parents Backstage?

In a heartwarming moment shared by BeyondtheStageTV, The Mutant picked up a mic and addressed his mom and dad while on the other side of the curtain. “Everyone says I should do this for me,” said Walker. “It’s impossible to do that for me, with the parents that I have,” he countered, noting that lifting the Sandow trophy required the full support of his family. “And winning this Olympia is allowing me to give back,” he shared. “So, I want you both to know, I am paying off all your debts, and I’m gonna make sure that you guys can breathe in peace from now on.”

Following the loving gesture, Nick was embraced by both parents as they tried and failed to hold back happy tears. And no doubt, this magical moment will only serve to make his parents even prouder of the man that Nick Walker has become. But when you consider the amount of money that must have been spent on protein to fuel a young Mutant, Mom and Dad probably deserved a bit of a rebate.
