Chris Hemsworth has captured the UFC’s attention after recent footage of the Australian actor mixing it up with Muay Thai, has proved that this star’s power is anything but fiction.
Hemsworth, who is best known for playing Thor in the Marvel Universe was away filming his latest movie when the actor took some time off set from set to get between the ropes. “Shooting ‘Extraction 3’ in Thailand,” shared the willing warrior in a now viral Instagram post on Oct. 7. “And, have been lucky enough to hit pads with my good mate Jack Boonsanong.”
The 6’3” Aussie was seen shirtless as he left it all in the ring during his Muay Thai training session at The St. Regis exercise room in Bangkok. It was there that he put on an impressive display, showing speed and strength as he struck the pads with a barrage jabs, hooks, knees, and kicks.
Will Chris Hemsworth ever compete in MMA?
While strong star has openly admitted that he has a burning desire to test himself in a real MMA fight, Hemsworth has also been quick to question his chances of success. The 43-year-old has previously told Complex that “A part of me wants to … I’ve trained a lot and sparred a lot over the years,” adding “I’d love to just, one day, go, ‘Right, what have I gotten here? And I’ll probably end up flat on my back, starry eyes.”
Despite his self-depreciation, Hemsworth’s recent rumble in Bangkok caught the attention of some serious MMA muscle including the UFC, who left a ‘playing close attention’ emoji under his video. Lightweight combat star Michael Chandler also added, “Boom boom boom!!!” in appreciation.
With a busy Hollywood career on the go, the chances of Hemsworth stepping into the octagon for a competitive fight might be slim, but we are certainly here for his inspiring training sessions.
