Joey Swoll is out of the hospital and back in the gym after the warrior for gym justice provided a health update and encouraging message for his fans.
As reported by M&F, Swoll, whose real name is Joey Sergo, was rushed into hospital on October 3, 2026, for matters related to his heart. This comes after several scares beginning in January 2023, when Swoll received surgery for “generic irregularities.” He was once again in a serious condition after a medical procedure in April 2024, resulted in part of a medical tool being left in his body. While fans had hoped that the fitness enthusiast’s ailments were behind him, this most recent incident saw Swoll taking to Instagram, to ask for “love and prayers.”
Joey Swoll Provides Update After Being Released from Hospital
On October 13, Swoll updated friends and fans with an Instagram Reel showing him back in the gym, doing what he loves best. “Cleared by my doctor to return back to the gym, so I hit some chest and triceps,” said the social media influencer. “I kept it light and I am taking it easy as I recover.”
Swoll also took the time to thank those that had provided him with some much-needed positivity in his time of need. “Thank you all so much, for all the love and support this past week!” he wrote. “Lying in the hospital, it was amazing to read all the positive comments and players. I’m SO grateful to have such an incredible community.”
Of course, community has long been the goal of Swoll, who often promotes accessibility and inclusivity within the gym space. “He’s back!” wrote one appreciative fan. “Speedy recovery,” wrote another. “Prayed for you many time over the last week,” wrote yet another.
