Why I Take Immune Formula All Year Long (Not Just During Flu Season)

As another birthday approaches and I’ve made yet another trip around the sun, I find myself reflecting on the habits that have served me best over the years.

People often ask me what I do to stay healthy, active, and engaged after more than four decades in the nutrition field.

    Is there one magic supplement?

    One secret food?

    One anti-aging trick?

What I’ve discovered is that good health is usually the result of doing the right things consistently for a very long time.

And one of those things is supporting my immune system every single day.

Not just during cold and flu season.

    Not just when I’m traveling.

Not just when everyone around me seems to be coughing and sneezing.

    Every day.

    Why?

Because today’s world places demands on the immune system that simply didn’t exist when I was growing up.

Every flight. Every cruise. Every restaurant. Every family gathering. Every grandchild’s visit. Every waiting room. Every shopping trip. Every conference. Every handshake.

All of it increases our exposure to viruses, bacteria, and environmental stressors.

And then there are the invisible challenges.

    •         Stress.
    •         Lack of sleep.
    •         Environmental toxins.
    •         Air pollution.
    •         Processed foods.
    •         The simple wear and tear that comes with getting older.

The truth is, your immune system never takes a day off.

It’s working around the clock to help protect, repair, and restore.

That’s one reason I’ve become even more committed to immune support as the years go by.

Not because I’m afraid of getting sick.

But because I want to stay resilient.

I want the energy to keep traveling, teaching, writing, learning, and enjoying the people I love.

And that’s exactly why Immune Formula has become one of my daily essentials.

One Important Lesson I’ve Learned About Aging

One of the biggest revelations about getting older is realizing that longevity isn’t just about adding years to your life.

It’s about adding life to your years.

I know people twenty years younger than I am who constantly feel exhausted, run down, and overwhelmed.

And I know people in their seventies, eighties, and even nineties who remain vibrant, curious, active, and engaged.

The difference often comes down to resilience.

How well does the body adapt?

    How quickly does it recover?

How effectively does it respond to everyday challenges?

That’s where immune health becomes so important.

Because a healthy immune system does far more than help defend against seasonal bugs.

It plays a role in healthy aging, balanced inflammation, recovery, respiratory wellness, and overall vitality.

And that’s why supporting it year-round has become one of my non-negotiables.

Why Quercetin Has Earned a Permanent Place in My Supplement Cabinet

If you’ve followed my work for any length of time, you’ve probably heard me talk about quercetin before. That’s because it may be one of the most versatile plant compounds available for supporting healthy aging and immune resilience.

Naturally found in foods such as apples, onions, berries, and capers, quercetin belongs to a family of plant compounds called flavonoids. These compounds help protect plants from environmental stressors—and they appear to offer similar protective benefits for us.

In many ways, quercetin represents exactly how I think about healthy aging.

    Not waiting for problems.

Supporting the body before problems develop.

Building resilience instead of constantly playing catch-up.

That’s one reason it remains one of the cornerstone ingredients in Immune Formula—and one reason I continue taking it year after year.

What’s Inside UNI KEY’s Immune Formula?

When James Templeton (founder of UNI KEY Health) and I developed Immune Formula, our goal was to provide a formula that could provide meaningful immune support throughout the year.

That’s why we combined (you guessed it) quercetin along with vitamin C, zinc, astragalus, specialized thymus and spleen glandulars, taurine, and other targeted nutrients into one comprehensive formula.

Each ingredient was selected to support a different aspect of immune health—from immune cell function and antioxidant protection to healthy inflammatory balance and overall resilience.

Among the many Immune Formula benefits I’ve experienced over the years, perhaps the most important is the confidence that comes from supporting my immune system consistently.

Here’s a quick look at some of the key ingredients that make Immune Formula unique:

Key Ingredient Why I Use It Year-Round
Quercetin Supports healthy immune balance, resilience, and seasonal wellness.
Vitamin C Provides antioxidant protection and supports healthy immune function.
Zinc Helps support normal immune cell activity and a healthy immune response.
Astragalus Traditionally used to promote long-term immune resilience and vitality.
Specialized Glandular Extracts Provide targeted nutritional support for healthy immune system function.

While quercetin is certainly one of the reasons I appreciate Immune Formula, it’s the combination of nutrients that makes it so unique. Vitamin C, adaptogenic herbs, rare (specialized) glandular extracts, and antioxidant support work together to provide the kind of comprehensive support I’ve always looked for.

That’s why Immune Formula has remained one of the supplements I continue to rely on, whether I’m traveling, dealing with seasonal challenges, or simply trying to stay healthy and resilient.

I don’t take it because I’m sick—I take it because I want to stay well.

What Another Birthday Has Taught Me

If there’s one thing another birthday has reminded me, it’s this:

Health is one of our greatest assets.

The better we care for it today, the more freedom we have tomorrow.

That’s why I continue to invest in simple daily habits that support my well-being—and why Immune Formula remains part of my routine year after year.

After all, healthy aging isn’t about turning back the clock.

It’s about making the most of the years ahead.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Is Immune Formula only for cold and flu season?

Not at all. While many people think about immune health primarily during winter months, your immune system works every day. That’s why I use Immune Formula as part of my regular wellness routine.

What makes Immune Formula different from basic vitamin C supplements?

Immune Formula combines vitamin C with quercetin, adaptogenic herbs, and specialized glandular ingredients to provide broader support than a single nutrient alone.

Can Immune Formula help during allergy season?

Yes! One reason I appreciate this formula is its inclusion of quercetin, a plant compound that supports a balanced immune response and is often used by those seeking seasonal wellness support.

    Who should consider Immune Formula?

Anyone looking for year-round immune support, healthy immune function, and greater resilience may benefit from adding Immune Formula to their daily routine.
