Peru rescues people trapped by landslides on highway for nearly a week

Authorities have begun helicopter evacuations in Peru’s Arequipa region after heavy rains and landslides destroyed sections of the Southern Coastal Highway, leaving dozens of people and vehicles stranded for six days.
